Once upon a time... Man

The Vitruvian Man is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci around 1490. It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the architect Vitruvius.

The drawing which is in pen and ink on paper, depects a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and inscribed in a circle and square. The drawing and text are sometimes called the Canon of Proportions or, less often, the Poportions of Man.

The drawing is based on the correclations of ideal human proportions with geometry described by the ancient Roman architect Vitrovius in Book III of his treatise De Architectura where he described the human figure as being the principal source of proportion among the Classical orders of architecture. Vitruvius determined that the ideal body should be eight heads high.

Leonardo's drawing is traditionally named in honor of the artchitect and is considered as symbol of the humanism, the man being considered as the center of the universe there. (Wiki)

Warning

This article is a collection of informations considered " Good to know " accumulated over time, with sometimes my point of view.

Some quoted articles are from scientific sources, but there is no scientific claim from me, even if "I drink some lemony water", I presume no qualification to judge the truthfulness of all the quoted facts :-).

It is possible that, to find j¡here some information in french. In this case I will ask you to use a translator if necessary.

I already spent many time looking for the information for both languages, and I have no more time or energy to translate everthing in any language.

I recommend you also to visit, the french version of this article which is way more complete, even with pictures in english.

Take you time to read them... they are, may-be (sure), a little bit long. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did, and that you will learn search things.

I also apologize if there is some spelling or grammatical errors.

As much as possible, all the information sources are mentionned.

Even if we are far away to know everything about the brain...

We already know some things...

Once upon a time... Man

And the discoveries continue

The last one, published in the american review, has been done by a french (Antoine Louveau) who discovered the existence of lymphatic vessels irrigant the brain.

Since then, no anatomic "link" between the brain and the immune system was known. And this big discovery represents a hope for the neurodegenerative diseases and could revolutionize the understanding and the healing of neurological diseases as Alzheimer or the multiple sclerosis.

Same brain (almost), different intelligences

Intelligence quotient, emotional quotient... nowaday a lot of tests permit to measure the capacities of our grey cells.

And, even if some have never spent any test, their genius is not to be any more demonstrated: Goethe, Mozart or Einstein among others.

Talking about Albert Einstein, his intelligence quotient is estimated between 160 and 180, even if he didn't talk before almost 4 years, and his teachers were saying "Never amount too much" see

However, a study of his brain (post-mortem of course!) demonstrated that he had not the same brain as everybody.

I will tell you more about this genius (that I admire a lot) in another article that I am preparing.

Einstein was not a good student, and wasn't still talking well at 9 years old. His parents thought that he was mentally retarded but they kept hope.

Indeed, the zest (skin) has 5 to 10 % more nutriments than the juice.

The milk

Dairy products are controversial. One common argument against is that it is "unnatural" to consume them.

That make sense... humans are the only species that consumes milk in adulhood and certainly the only species that consumes the milk from another animal

Of course, the biological purpose of cow's milk is to feed a rapidly growing calf : 360 kg the first year, so 1 kg per day.

Humans aren't calves... and adults usuallu don't need to grow.

Plant with numerous vertues

The leaves are used fresh or dried.

Indeed, nutricional analyses showed that the leaves of Moringa Oleifera are richer in vitamins, minerals and proteins than most of the vegetables.

Few exemples for dried leaves :

Is a common food and drink in Africa, South America and Southeast Asia.

It is said that it can kill cancer but there is no credible scientific proof of it.

The nonverbal communication

When the body says what hide the words...

We also speak about Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), vast fascomating subject.

As the "Mentalist", with a stalk of observation, common sens and deduction, it is possible "to read" a person as an open book.

The researches say that our body speaks to 93% (the body and tone of the voice), while the words represent only 7% of our communication.

Art studied by all the big speakers, gurus, politicians, police, actors...

The way is more important than the words.

The body does not lie, we lie only with words.

Even if we don't say anything, we can deduce that somebody is an anxious person seeing nail biting.

That's why, may be, since the beginning of time, all the wisdoms, advice to watch what a person does more than what she says.

It also make me think in the french song :

"Paroles, Paroles" sung by Dalida and Alain Delon. You can hear it here with the lyrics in english and also discover more about Communication :

Once upon a time... Man

Knowing that people pay more attention on the rest than on the words, we understand the numerous communication problems.

And if we add the fact that sometimes the appearances are misleading or that some people can use it to manipulate... then we don't know anymore what or who to trust...
